Question on subject verb agreement. IMO answer :- D.

The other option can be easily discarded on POE basis.

Two reasons why I would eliminate C are
1.
"....had saved them from bankruptcy eight years before"
Usage past perfect tense is wrong. Simple past will do.

2. Plural Pronoun them is wrong. Should be singular 'it' that refers to the corporation.

Eliminate
A) They cannot refers to Senay as it is singular.

B) Senay is again taken as plural .

C) Saved them - It should be Saved it

D) Correct usage of pronoun by using it for Senay.

E) incorrect tense usage

I chose E over D because D says -
D. Eight years after a sudden turnaround saved it from bankruptcy, the Senay corporation is
My thoughts - here, before the Subject [Senay Corporation], is introduced a pronoun [IT] is mentioned which we don't prefer generally as a hanging pronoun
then why didn't we eliminate D, can someone please explain is my understanding incorrect ?

Eight years after they were saved from bankruptcy by a sudden turn around, the Senay corporation is again encountering sluggish sales, mounting competition, and deep losses.

A. Eight years after they were saved from bankruptcy by a sudden turn around, the Senay corporation is Subject verb agreement issue. Senay corporation is singular, whereas "they were saved" is plural. Eliminate.

B. Eight years before the Senay corporation was saved from bankruptcy by a sudden turnaround, now they are Pronoun issue. Senay corporation is singular, whereas "saved them" is plural. Also, "Eight years before..." implies that the "sluggish sales" etc. are being encountered eight years before the "saved", which is illogical. Eliminate.

C. After a sudden turn around had saved them from bankruptcy eight years before, the Senay corporation is Pronoun issue. Senay corporation is singular, whereas "saved them" is plural.

D. Eight years after a sudden turnaround saved it from bankruptcy, the Senay corporation is Correct answer. The "it" could be problematic, but an ambiguous antecedent is not always a clear-cut reason to eliminate an answer option on the GMAT, especially if no other issues are to be found. We can hold on to this to see if (E) has no issues, else this is the best option.

E. After the Senay Corporation had been saved from bankruptcy eight years before by a sudden turnaround, it is Incorrect usage of past perfect form "had been saved". There is no second event in the past which is occurring after the "saved" which needs to be placed in order. Also, the correct usage would be "eight years ago" and not "eight years before" when talking about a point in time in the past. Eliminate.

Hope this helps.
