Also, In A - need should be needs ( the determination of the .... needs.........)

"the determination of the authenticity" is a composite subject and thus takes the singular verbs "is" and "needs". On that basis, you can strike off (A), (D) and (E).

Between (B) and (C), usage of "like" in (B) to present examples is incorrect. "such as" preferred over "like" to present examples and as "Da Vinci" here is depicted as an example of "renaissance-era painters"; therefore, the usage of "such as" in (C) is correct.
