Martyrdom, a word with its root in the Greek martur, which means witness, is a sacrifice that leads to both dignity of the life and consecration of the death, comes at the cost of one’s life.

(A) leads to both dignity of the life and consecration of the death, comes

(B) dignifies both the life and consecration of death, comes

(C) dignifies the life, consecrates the death, and comes

(D) both dignifies the life and consecrates the death; it comes

(E) both dignifies the life and consecrates the death, comes

(A) leads to both dignity of the life and consecration of the death, comes

leads and comes are both verbs. The sentence is incorrectly constructed as two verbs are just separated by comma. Hence this option can be eliminated.

(B) dignifies both the life and consecration of death, comes

The sentence gives a illogical meaning that Martyrdom dignifies consecration of death. Also the error in A still retains. Eliminate.

(C) dignifies the life, consecrates the death, and comes

I will keep this initially. Though I am not very convinced on the parallelism here. The original sentence intends to convey that Martyrdom leads to A and B , and C. It doesn't intend to convey that A, B and C are parallel.

(D) both dignifies the life and consecrates the death; it comes

The construction is better than that of C. Parallelism is maintained correctly and the sentence follows the correct structure. Will eliminate C at this point.

(E) both dignifies the life and consecrates the death, comes

Suffers from the same problem as that of A. Hence eliminate.

Option D

Though Intended meaning of D is much more better than that o f C, hasn't D pronoun "it" ambiguity issues

[color=#0000ff]Suffers from the same problem as that of A. Hence eliminate.

i dont know how you are analysing options C & D based on the original sentence. the original might be completely wrong. please let me know if there are any other significant reasons to choose D over C.
