As is to be expected, this demand has exerted an upward pressure on prices of used computers. Increasing use of entertainment s/w by young first-time users -> greater demand for used computers -> hiked prices for used computers -> we expect many people will now sell their old computers and buy new ones (thereby making a profit)
IMO, Option (E) tells us that these computer owners have profit motive in selling/buying computers, which is the underlying assumption in our expectation above.

What lacks in the conclusion is a reason for the current owners to prefer a newer model
A. For me it weakens: it's a reason for old users to upgrade, but if they are obsolete than why would first-timers buy them?
B. This is a motive for current users to upgrade, also young first-timers seem to only need the "entertainment software product"
C. Could be a reason to buy a new one but there is no mention of need for new software for current users in the text.
D. Seems out of scope
E. This tells us the primary reason for old-users not to upgrade, since the statement in the text mentions that this is now getting solved (ie, value for resell is increasing) it would be a strong argument. I'm just concerned by the "little or no value".
I'd go with E as well but I really don't it seems quite fuzzy, what is the source of that question?
