So (E) says suggests that the coolers were both stacked full from the beginning. Logically, from there, we could say that people must be drinking energy drinks at a faster rate - since the energy drink cooler is more empty.

But notice how we came into the answer choices already with something in mind - and that is that we wondered whether both coolers started from the same level. And (E) confirms that yes, they started from the same level.

And so that shows that people were indeed drinking energy drinks at a faster pace - again matching what we expected before looking at the answer choices.

This slide sums it up.

According to me, Even choice E doesn't strengthen it. There is no need of raw data as only percentage is given in the argument. Let me try to explain :

Case 1) Before -> there are 10 energy drinks and 100 beers. After -> 1 energy drink left and 50 beers.

So next time i will order more energy drinks(lets say 15) and decrease the beers(lets say 60).

Case 2) Before-> there are 100 energy drinks and 100 beers. After -> 10 energy drink left and 50 beers.

So next time i can order more energy drinks(lets say 110) and decrease the beers(lets say 60).

case 3) Case 2) Before-> there are 200 energy drinks and 100 beers. After -> 20 energy drink left and 50 beers.
So next time i will order more energy drinks(lets say 220) and decrease the beers(lets say 60).

So, in each case i will order MORE energy drinks and LESS beers, regardless of the actual numbers.

I doubt on the sourcefor this one.

A nightclub manager in Las Vegas noticed that his beer cooler at the bar was half empty by the end of the night while his energy drink cooler at the bar was 90% empty. As a result, the manager reasoned that he should increase the amount of energy drinks and decrease the amount of beer he ordered from the distributor each week.

At Midnight : Beer Cooler = 50% empty , Energy Drink Cooler = 90% Empty.

Increase the amount of energy drink and reduce the amount of Beer.

Which of the following, if true, would most strengthen the manager's rationale for ordering more energy drinks and less beer?

(A) The two coolers at the bar in question are the only place in the nightclub where the energy drinks and beer are stored.

Out of scope.

(B) On that day, a summer-special competition began that rewarded any nigh clubber able to drink 5 energy drink vodkas in 5 minutes with $100 in prize money.

Absolutely Out of scope , irrelevant .

(C) During that week, a special "New Year's Special" sale was in effect for the beer.

Weakening the conclusion , the people visiting the Club not buying Beer Despite the special offer for New Years Sale.

(D) On the subsequent day, the remaining 10% of energy drinks all sold within the first hour after the nightclub reopened.

Irrelevant to the present discussion.

(E) At the beginning of the day, the energy drink cooler was stocked with at least as many drinks as in the beer cooler.

Yup this means that both the coolers had same quantity of Drinks in store , Definitely strengthening the claim that people like drinking energy drink to Beer.

Hence this must be the answer.

IMO (E) without any second thought...

This is a very popular question. And an important one, but even if you aren’t following a plant-based diet, do YOU know how much protein you should be eating on a daily basis?

Strengthen: The manager reasoned that he should increase the amount of energy drinks and decrease the amount of beer he ordered from the distributor each week.

Why will he do that ??
(A) The two coolers at the bar in question are the only place in the nightclub where the energy drinks and beer are stored.
doesn't speak about the total

(B) On that day, a summer-special competition began that rewarded any nighclubber able to drink 5 energy drink vodkas in 5 minutes with $100 in prize money.
OOS

(C) During that week, a special "New Year's Special" sale was in effect for the beer.
Still they didn't sell, doesn't strengthen

(D) On the subsequent day, the remaining 10% of energy drinks all sold within the first hour after the nightclub reopened.
Next day is irrelevant

(E) At the beginning of the day, the energy drink cooler was stocked with at least as many drinks as in the beer cooler.

For choice C, the fact that beer is priced at a lower price point and still didn't sell should indicate that people prefer energy drinks over beer right hence strengthening the conclusion?
