Option C is the strongest "weakener" here:

If very few species not hunted by humans survived, therefore many species lived together with humans newly arrived and were not affected by the microorganism brought by these humans. The argument therefore falls apart and the extinction must have had another crucial factor.

C is a clear weakener.

"Humans did not hunt species -> species did not go extinct"

Therefore, this gives us reason to believe that human hunting did play a role in the extinction of many species and thereby weakens the original statement.

I agree with (C) as well, but I chose (E), and that's definitely not a correct choice. It literally just repeats the paragrapoh
