I opted E as i don't see rest of the options are weakening what author wants us to believe i.e., Without new resources, reserves will be exhausted by 2050.
Kindly correct me if my above derived conclusion is wrong.
So based on above conclusion:
Option A: It talks about rate of increase in demand in last 5 years. As we are not sure about the timeline of the argument and also uncertain that this trend of decrease in rate would continue till 2050, I couldn't say if this is weakening or strengthening the conclusion.
Option B: Though conclusion talks about new reserves and this option also brings in a new unidentified reserve, I still couldn't say that this would last till 2050, as it is uncertain on how much of this reserves would meet the growing demand mentioned in argument.
Option C: This brought a new resource "Oil" as replacement to Coal. As we are uncertain on sector in which the demand is growing additionally as there is no context set on specific area of coal's usage it is hard to decide on this statement.
Option D: This option talks about other supplies which are costly and less efficient to produce. This makes it even harder to produces coal to meet demand and I think this statement supports conclusion.
Option E: No other option seems to weaken the conclusion so, None of the Above.
Kindly correct me if I missed anything.
