IMO C as this is the only answer where there is a mention of the correlation between high cholesterol levels and cardiovascular disease, it does bring outside information like options D and E but at least it specifically mentions, " very low blood sugar levels tend to cancel out the cardiovascular effects of a high cholesterol level."

Residents of L have HC but no CVD.

This does not explain people in Limone. 'Persons' is too broad.

Stress and Pollution exacerbate existing cardiovascular disease. We are looking for causes.

This is stating a fact. Residents of Limone have normal blood sugar levels.... But, this answer mentions that low blood sugar cancels out cardiovascular effects. This does not mention that the residents have low blood sugar levels.
