I don't understand. If C has higher grade than J in three courses and one has similar grade, how would her avg being more than J wont be possible. Even if she scores lower in the other remaining course, she will still have an avg greater than J.
Can someone please explain this?!


considering scores are out of 10

Carl - 8+8+8+...,...,...+1+0 = 25
Joel - ...,...,...,7+7+7+6+1 = 28

Carl = 25/5 => 5
Joel = 28/5 => 5.6

Joel Avg. > Carl Avg.
