Well its like this S B S B S B S B S B S
the interval between 9 am to 11:40 am is 160 min having 3 seminars and 2 breaks .If 1 break is of 5 min than time for 3 seminars = 160 - 2*5=150
Time of 1 seminar =150 /3=50 min .
So calculating for 6 seminars and 5 breaks ,total time comes out to be 5 hrs and 25 min .
Answer is C.

Let break b of b mins
and let seminar be of s mins.
Given: s=10b
6 seminar in this pattern SBSBSBSBSBS
Total time between of 3 seminars and 2 breaks = 160
3s+2b=160
3(10b)+2b=160
32b=160
b=5. each break is of 5mins
Also, each seminar is 10b mins = 50mins
Therefore, 6 seminars will be of 50*6=300mins
and 5 breaks between 6 seminars will be of 5*5=25mins

Total time = 300+25=325mins= 5 hours 25 mins.

Shouldnt the answer be 5 hours 20 mins?

Break = b
Seminar= 10b

9am to 11:40am= 160mins

3s+b=160
30b+b=160
b=160/31

6 seminar will take

6s+2b

=60b+2b

=62b

=62*160/31

=320

=5 hours 20 mins

Let each break is for x minutes.
So each seminar is for 10 x minutes.

Here is the schedule of the seminars & breaks

1st Seminar -->Brk-->2nd seminar-->Brk-->3rd seminar-->Brk-->4th seminar-->Brk-->5th seminar-->Brk-->6th seminar
10x --> x --> 10x --> x --> 10x --> x --> 10x --> x --> 10x --> x --> 10x

Now it becomes relatively easier.
1st seminar started at 9 & 3rd ended at 11:40, so time taken is 2 hr (120 min) + 40 min = 160 min
10x+x+10x+x+10x=160 ===> 32x=160 ===>x=5 min

Total time taken = 60x+5x =65x ===>65*5=325 min
Converting into hours = 5 hours 25 minutes (option D)

Total Seminars = 6 in a day
So, Breaks = 6-1 = 5 in a day

Let time for Break = x, so time taken for seminar = 10x

First seminar starts @ 0900 & third ends @ 1140, so total time consumed = 160 Mins
There would be 2 breaks between 3 seminars, so

x.2 + 10x.3 = 160
32x = 160;
x = 5 & 10x = 50
Time in seminar = 50 Mins; in break = 5 Mins
Total 6 seminars & 5 breaks = 50 (6) + 5 (5) = 325 Mins
Answer = 5 Hrs 25 Mins

We can let x = the length, in minutes, of a break; thus, 10x = the length, in minutes, of a seminar. Since the first seminar begins at 9:00 am and the third one ends at 11:40 am, the time elapsed is 2 hours 40 minutes, or 160 minutes. This means that the total length of 3 seminars and 2 breaks is 160 minutes. We can translate this into an equation:

3(10x) + 2x = 160

32x = 160

x = 5

So each break is 5 minutes long and each seminar is 5(10) = 50 minutes long. If a day has a total of 6 seminars, it will have 5 breaks and, thus, a day of 6 seminars and 5 breaks will last
