Quite straightforward. 10*10*.88*.92 = 80.96
Doubt if this is a 600-700 level question.

Without any discount Sam should pay 10*10=$100. Now, the overall discount would be slightly less than 20%, thus he must pay slightly more than $80. Only answer choice D fits.
Answer: D.
