The number 2 - 0.5 is how many times the number 1 - 0.5?
(A) 2

(D) 3.5
(E) 4
From the stem we can set up the following equation:
\((2-0.5)=x*(1-0.5)\);
\(1.5=x*0.5\);
\(x=3\).
Answer: C.

Let the multiplier be x.
2-0.5 = x(1-0.5)
1.5 = 0.5x
=> x = 3
