Esteban is in a line at a theater. If he is the 25th person counting from the back of the line and the 18th person counting from the front of the line, how many people are in the line?

A. 41
B. 42
C. 43
D. 44
E. 45

Hi there, I'm having trouble with this question; the answer is 42 but I've no idea how to get 42. Could somebody please help me? Thank you!

I got this question because I did 8 + 5 = 12 instead of 13 while I was adding up 18 and 25.
And then I got 42 - 1 equals 41. Then I clicked A.
You need more than effort in GMAT.
You need serious prayer to your God.

The logic is to add both (25+18=430 and subtract 1 for double counting. So the answer is 42 in this case.
