What is 3/5 of 5/8 of 2/3?

A. 1/4
B. 3/8
C. 9/16
D. 5/8
E. 16/9
Seems simple, but I can see the possibility of arithmetic mistakes, so I suspect this question tests the rules that "of" = multiply, that order in this case does not matter (you don't have to calculate 5/8 of 2/3 first, e.g.), and that one should "cancel" before solving.

(3/5) * (5/8) * (2/3):

The two 3s, factored out (canceled), leave 1 in numerator and 1 in denominator

The two 5s, factored out, also leave 1 in both numerator and denominator

The 2, factored out of 2 and 8, leaves 1 in the numerator and 4 in the denominator:

(1/1) * (1/4) * (1/1) =

\(\frac{1 * 1 * 1}{1 * 4 * 1}\)

Answer A: \(\frac{1}{4}\)

\(\frac{3}{5}*\frac{5}{8}*\frac{2}{3}\) = \(\frac{1}{4}\).

the 5's and the 3's get cancelled, leaving \( \frac{1}{4}\).

Therefore, the OA is A.
