If m is the average (arithmetic mean) of the first 10 positive multiples of 2 and r is the range of the first 10 multiples of 2 what is the value of r – m?

A. 7
B. 8
C. 9
D. 14
E. 16

Hello Bunuel,

I am confused by the wording "m is the average of first 10 positive multiples of 2" and "r is range of the first 10 multiples of 2". If both are same then my answer is 7. (A)

Can writing simply multiples of 2 include -ve multiples?

If there's no glitch in the question then answer would be 7 alias A option

average of first 10 multiples of 2 is 11 and range of first 10 multiples is 18

So r-m = 18-11 = 7
