For y intercept x is 0 so we get y=-6 i.e (0,-6)
For the x-intercept, y=0. Putting the value ,we get x^2 +x-6 = 0 or x = -3 or 2.
question is stating about negative x-intercept so we choose (-3,0)

Slope of the line passing through (-3,0) and (0,-6) = (0 +6)/(-3-0) = -2
answer A

"What is the slope between point A and B.........."
Hum... this does not sound clear to me.

Why not saying "What is the slope of the line passing through point A and B?"

In the x-y plane, what is the slope between y-intercept and a negative x-intercept of \(y=x^2+x-6\)?

A. -2
B. -3
C. 2
D. 4
E. 6

The eqn when solved gives x=-3 , x=2 and y=-6

Therefore the slope = -6-0 / 0+3 = -2

THererfore IMO A

For y intercept, put x=0; which gives value of y=-6; (0,-6)
for x intercept, put y=0; which gives equation x^2+x-6=0 =>x=-3, 2 (take point (-3,0) for negative intercept;
for slope between two points (0,-6) and (-3,0); m=y2-y1/x2-x1=> m=-2
