If x is 150% greater than 200, x is what percent greater than 50% of 500?

(A) 0
(B) 20
(C) 50
(D) 100
(E) 200

x= 250% of 200
= (250/100)*200
= 500

Note: we have to compare the value of x with : 50% of 500 = 250

We are asked x is what % greater that 250.

Difference between 500 and 250 is 250. We can clearly deduce that x is 100 % greater that 50% of 500.

Thus the best answer is D.

(A) 0
(B) 20
(C) 50
(D) 100
(E) 200

\(x = \frac{250}{100}*200\)

So, x = 500

Quote:
x is what percent greater than 50% of 500?

\(\frac{500 - 250}{250}*100\)

= 100% , Answer must be (D)

(A) 0
(B) 20
(C) 50
(D) 100
(E) 200

If x is 150% greater than 200, then x is 250% of 200, or 2.5 x 200 = 500. Since 50% of 500 = 0.5 x 500 = 250, then x = 500 is (500 - 250)/250 = 100 percent greater than 250.
