let x=weight of water lost to evaporation
.99(100)-x=.98(100-x)

Initially, we have 99 grams of water and 1 gram of rose. Let w = the amount of water that evaporates, and we can create the equation:

(99 - w)/(100 - w) = 98/100

100(99 - w) = 98(100 - w)

9900 - 100w = 9800 - 98w

100 = 2w

50 = w

We see that 50 grams of water evaporated, so the new weight of the rosewater is 100 - 50 = 50 grams.

Answer: B
