x/7 = q + 1
x = 7q + 1
again,
y/7 = p + 2
y = 7p + 2
\(\frac{(x + y)}{7}\)\(\)
= \(\frac{(7q + 1 + 7p + 2)}{7}\)
=\(\frac{( 7q + 7p + 3)}{7}\)
Only 3 is not divisible.
D is the correct answer.

x= 8 and y = 9
would give remainder as 1 and 2 when divided by 7
x+y = 17
17/7 = 3
IMO D
