Joseph's final grade is calculated from the mean of his test scores. His teacher also allows them to drop the lowest score before calculating the final grade. If Joseph received a (67, 82, 73, 91, 77, and, 75) on his tests, what was his final grade rounded to the nearest whole number?

A. 78

B. 79

C. 80

D. 81

E. 82

Since 67 is the lowest score and will be dropped, the final grade is:

(82 + 73 + 91 + 77 + 75)/5 = 398/5 = 79.6 ≈ 80

Answer: C

E. 82

So because of this, we can remove 67

(73 + 75 + 77 + 82 + 91) / 5

398/ 5

79.6

80

Drop 67 since it is lowest

=> sum of all the numbers excluding 67= 398
=>Avg =398/5 = 79.6 ~80

Option C is correct.
