If two litres of water is added to 5 litres of a 70% milk solution, what is the percentage of water in the final solution?

A. 30%
B. 35%
C. 45%
D. 50%
E. 56%

Water in 5 liters solution = 30% of 5 = 1.5 liters

New amount of water added = 2 liters

Total water now = 1.5+2 = 3.5

Total Quantity of new solution = 5+2 = 7 liters

% of water = (3.5/7)*100 = 50%

Answer: Option D

Bunuel : The question must mention that the milk solution is actually Milk-water solution

5 Liters of mixture
Milk= 5*70/100 =3.5 liters
and Water =1.5 Liters
Since 2 liters water is added.
The quantity of water rise to 3.5 liter.
Aftetmath,in the final mixture the milk 3.5 liter and water 3.5 liter.
Means, 50% water and 50% milk.

A. 30%
B. 35%
C. 45%
D. 50%
E. 56%
Since the quantity of milk is unchanged
0.7*5=C2*7
C2=1/2
So C1=1/2
D:)
Or
0.3*5+ 2=X(5+2)
3.5=7X
X=1/2=50%
D:)

Can you explain this formula, or where it is from and when to use it?
