In a survey of readers of books A,B and C, it was found that 14 people read book A, 18 people read book B and 15 people read book C. If 2 people read all the three books, which of the following can be the number of people who read exactly one book?

I. 19
II. 20
III. 21

A. I only
B. II only
C. III only
D. I and III only
E. I, II and III
We can assume that there are no readers of two books exclusively, then, we would have 12 +16+15 = 41 readers.

If there were to be readers of two books, the number of readers will be 41-2*x -> always an odd number, thus 19 and 21 possible. (D)
