AntrikshR , The que is about the length of PQR right?

A small doubt , is the length of PQR is equal to PRQ ?
Hi,

No, Length of PQR is not equal to PRQ.
IMO, it's a typo in the question as Arc PQR is nothing but the whole circle. Moreover, we don't know where exactly is the point R on the circle. Asking the length of the arc PQR or perimeter of the circle would be too simple :). Let's wait for the OA.

using formula:

Length of an arc= (x/360)* 2*3.14*r
where x= Angle subtended by the arc

substituting values= (270/360)*2*3.14*8
= 12 *3.14

Explanation:
r=8
length of arc PQR= (270/360) * 2 * π * r
= (3/4)*2*π*8
= 12π

Assuming the question to find out the length of PRQ.

Len(PRQ) = Circumference of the circle - Len(PQ)

Len(PQ) = (2*pi*8) (90/360) = 4pi

Len (PRQ) = 16pi -4i = 12 pi.

Hence the Ans is A) 12 pi
