every 2 minutes climbs 2 mmeter then in next 1 min slips 1 meter.
so 14-2=12 meter will climb in 12 cycles of 3 minutes (2 minutes to climb 2 meter then slips 1meter in 1minutes so in three minutes climbes 1 meter in total).therefore 12 meters will climb in 3×12=36 minutes and it took another 2 minutes to climb next 2 meter so intotal the monkey will take 36+2= 38 minutes to climbe the 14 meter slipary pool

Hello Bunuel,

What does it mean by every alternate min?
"Every alternate minute" means that the action occurs every other minute, not continuously. In the context of the question, after the monkey climbs for 2 minutes, he slips 1 meter in the subsequent minute, then climbs for another 2 minutes, and then slips again in the minute after that.
