These sorts of questions on simplification of Percentages need to be taken down in less than a minute. And if you want to do that, you should be conversant with the fraction equivalent of percentages.
16% = \(\frac{4 }{ 25}\)
40% = \(\frac{2 }{5}\)
Let the number be N.
Then, \(\frac{4 }{ 25}\) * \(\frac{2 }{ 5}\) * N = 8
Simplifying, N = 25 * 5 = 125
The correct answer option is A.
