A “routine test security review” email after an online GMAT is usually not an accusation and does not mean your score will be cancelled. It means GMAC is withholding the official score temporarily while it reviews the recorded session.
From the GMATClub cases I found:
  • A 735 score was released roughly the next day after the review email.
  • A 685 was cleared in under 48 hours.
  • Another candidate received the score after 7 business days.
  • One candidate waited 13 calendar days.
  • GMATClub moderators say most cases they encounter are cleared, although that is community experience, not an official GMAC statistic. GMATClub: collected outcomes, additional online-GMAT case
Things such as looking away toward the whiteboard, briefly leaving the camera frame, speaking, proctor interruptions, background noise, a computer restart, or a substantial score increase are commonly mentioned by forum users. However, GMAC does not publicly confirm its precise review triggers, so claims that a particular action or high score caused it are speculation.

Officially, GMAC says results are normally available within 3–5 days but can take up to 20 days in some cases. A violation is a separate determination that could result only after the review. GMAT exam policies
What to do:
  1. Don’t panic or send explanations unless GMAC asks questions.
  2. Check your mba.com account and spam folder.
  3. Follow the timeframe stated in your email—if it says 20 business days, wait that long before requesting an update.
  4. If an application deadline is close, tell the school that the score is temporarily undergoing GMAC’s routine review.
  5. Contact GMAC after the stated period if the score is still unavailable.
So, by itself, the email means delay and additional checking, not that GMAC has found wrongdoing.
