While watering the second plant she poured 25% of water that was left in the can and on the third plant she poured 30 % of the remaining water. The water left inside the can is what percent of the water that was left just before watering the second plant?

Let the initial amount of water be 100 units.
Hence on 1st plant she poured 15% water, we are left with 85% water i.e 85 units.
On 2nd plant she poured 25% of remaining water, hence we are left with 75% or  \frac{3}{4}* 85  of water.
On third plant she pored 30% of remaining water, hence we are left with  \frac{3}{4}*\frac{7}{10}* 85 of water.

Therefore, the percentage required:  \frac{3}{4} * \frac{7}{10} *85*\frac{100}{85}   =44.625%

 30% of 63.75 = 19.125 units poured.
 Water left = 63.75 - 19.125 = 44.625 units.

Now, find what percent 44.625 is of 63.75:
Percentage = (44.625 / 63.75) × 100 = 70%

Water left after pouring 25% of 85 => 21.25 ml on second plant = 85 - 21.25 ml = 63.75 ml

Now we need to find what % of water remaining  before watering second plant  is left in the can => we can see that  44.425 is just over 50% of 85 , the only option that fits is D. 52.500%

Water poured on the first plant: 15% of the water in the can.
15% of 100 = 15 units.
After watering the first plant, the remaining water in the can is: 100−15=85 units.

Water poured on the second plant: 25% of the remaining water (85 units) in the can.
25% of 85 = 21.25 units.
After watering the second plant, the remaining water in the can is: 85−21.25 = 63.75 units.

Water poured on the third plant: 30% of the remaining water (63.75 units) in the can.
30% of 63.75 = 19.125 units.
After watering the third plant, the remaining water in the can is: 63.75−19.125=44.625 units.

Now, we need to find  the water left inside the can after the third plant    is what percentage of    the water left just before watering the second plant.

The remaining water after watering the third plant is 44.625 units, and the remaining water just before watering the second plant is 85 units.
The percentage is calculated as:

Since the options are far apart, you can use approximations.

She had say 100 ml to begin with and was left with 85 ml after watering the first plant. 
Next she watered away 25% of 85 i.e. 1/4th of 85 which is about 21. So she is left with 64 ml. 
Next she watered away 30% of 64 i.e. 3 * 6.4 which is about 19 ml. So she is left with about 45 ml.

Required percentage is 45/85 which is certainly something more than 1/2 but just about because half of 85 is 42.5. There is only one such option which is (D).
