Sarah is running a cross-country race on a course that has her run from the start/finish line to a turnaround point, then directly back along the same course to the same line. If she has already reached the turnaround point and traveled 20% of the distance back to the start/finish line, what percent of the race has she completed?

A. 55%
B. 60%
C. 65%
D. 70%
E. 75%

Since Sarah covered 50% and 20% of the returning 50% 
So distance covered = 50%+(20%×50%)
= 60%

Hence B is the answer

The distance from start/finish line to turnaround point =100/2=50m

So she completed the first 50m and then 20% of the remaining 50, i.e. 20*50/100 = 10m

Total distance covered = 50+10=60m

Or 60/100 = 60%

So he reached a turnaround point he covered 50% of the journey. After that he travelled 20% of the return journey :
so if we consider the whole journey to and from as 200 units the he covered 100+20/100(100)=120

so % cmpleted is 120/200*100 12*5=60% so option B

Sarah runs up to a turn around point and then returns back to the finish line.

Let’s assume the total distance as 100. And the distance from start line to turn around point to be 50. So, the return distance is also the same.

Given, he has completed 20% of return distance = 20%(50) = 10 metres.

Total distance covered is 50+10 = 60 metres.

As a percentage it’s , 60%.
