The initial gap between Troy and his wife = Distance between the two cities (because they are travelling on the same route) = D
Relative Speed is = D/5 + D/2.5 = 3D/5 ( We are adding both speeds here because they are travelling in opposite directions)
Using formula - Time taken = Gap * Relative speed,
We get, T= 5/3 hours
Converting to minutes gives us the final answer as 100. Option D.

T's speed - Distance/Time = D/5.
Wife's speed - Distance/time = D/2.5
Total Speed (Since they are travelling towards each other) - D/5 + D/2.5 = D/5+2D/5 = 3D/5
The time at which they meet = Time it took them to cover the entire distance = Distance/speed = D/(3D/5) = 5/3 hours = (5/3)*60 mins = 100 mins
