A car is traveling in a constant speed to cover a distance of 100 miles. What is the time taken to cover the distance?

Time = Distance/Rate
Rate = Distance/Time

(1) In the last 10 miles, car was travelling at a speed of 23 miles/hr

Rate = Distance/Time
Rate = 10/23
Rate = .43 miles/minute

If the car was traveling at a constant rate then this rate is applicable for the entire trip.

Time = Distance/Rate
Time = 100/0.43
Time = 232 minutes
Time = 3.87 hours
SUFFICIENT

(2) In the first 40 miles, car was travelling at a speed of 23 miles/hr
The car is going at a constant rate of 23 miles/hour. Therefore:
Time = Distance/Rate
Time = 100/23
Time = 4.34 hours
SUFFICIENT

(D)
