To calculate average for the six days, we somehow need the SUM of all the 6 values. If we can get that sum, answer can be found; otherwise not.

Clearly Statement 1 only gives sum for first three days (36*3) and Statement 2 gives 'two' values out of the next three days values. Even after combining the two statements, we have values for five days only. Nothing about the sixth day. Sum cannot be found.

Hence Insufficient, answer is E

Statement 1. Since we don’t know the average temp on Thursday and Friday, we cannot answer the question. Hence, Insufficient.
Statement 2. Since we don’t know the temp on first three days, we cannot answer the question. Hence, insufficient.
Statement 1 & 2 together. Using both the statements, we are still unaware of the average temp on Friday and Saturday. Hence, Insufficient.
Hence, e is the answer.
