Hi Anil,

the clubs and committees are being formed but their nature and structure would vary from year to year. I will ask the concerned person to update these stuff. Incidently, im part of the speaker Series Committee.

I am indeed targeting this. i have a little over 9 years experience and currently working as assistant vice president in a renowned global bank in India. My target is to join reputed 1 year full time MBA such as the one offered by IIM-A. I am planning to take up GMAT by August 1 or 2 nd week. Wondering if there are any other institutes abroad that offer similar courses for 2017 intake.

There are several reputed Bschools that provide accelerated 1 year MBA programs. XLRI and ISB are another excellent domestic option. INSEAD and Cornell are some of overseas schools I know that have one year MBA programs. It seems like you have fairly large work experience. If you are not planning to switch industry after MBA, then you may also consider Executive MBA programs.

here it is:
https://www.iimahd.ernet.in/programmes/p ... ofile.html
Also, on the deadlines:

Round 1 is September 12th 2016
.
Round 2 is 15 November 2016

https://www.iimahd.ernet.in/programmes/pgpx.html

.

I am just wondering if applying for Round 2 has more probability of getting rejected than when applying for Round 1 as i have read regarding other business schools like ISB preferring to take in most candidates in the first round while second round is to fill in vacancies remaining. Will applying for Round 2 be of any disadvantage? Any one aspiring for this program like me or if anyone has been selected / is currently of IIM-A PGPX can you please enlighten on this?

Hi Senthil, that should be enough time. You can submit a copy of the unoffical test score report as a part of your application. I think the official reporting would also usually be done by that time but even if that would not be completed, should not be a major problem. In my opinion, applying in Round 1 always makes more sense and should be done if you are ready with the whole application. There is a chance that there might be too many good applicants in Round 1 and Round 2 candidates might(not always) stand a lesser probability of getting in.

Be the coolest guy in the MBA Forum - Be a threadmaster!

Blatantly put, a threadmaster is a sheriff of each school threads :-) If you are passionate for IIM Ahmedabad, if you are confident that you can lead this thread and keep it full of life, then PM your request to me.

Here is a list of tasks that help applicants to share and discuss their experiences and make the thread stronger.

1) Putting a first post together for the school (Most schools are up already! I will give the OP status to the threadmasters)
2) Keeping the thread updated with events/deadlines/etc - e.g. posting relevant material found, updates, interview debriefs found if not in the thread (from last year’s threads), and others.( Most of this information will be available on the school website and you will have them if you are applying.)
3) Keeping the thread organized - if something very helpful/valuable got posted, it would be helpful to put it into the very first post so that the first post serves as a valuable guide.
4) Keeping a roll call (this is automated) and keeping track of everyone who applied, submitted, interviewed, and keeping stats - it is quite fun.
5) Finally, being the GMAT Club advocate of your school!!

Thank you.

Hi,

I am quite passionate about IIMA and a proud applicant for upcoming batch. I would be glad to lead this thread given an opportunity to become the "Thread Master".

Regards
Vijay

Senthil, you should be fine. I gave my GMAT about 3 days before the round deadline. Make sure to preserve your copy of the unofficial score sheet, as it would be required during the application process. The official score will be received by the institute after a few days, but this is acceptable (This is mentioned in the application process as well). If this is giving you a few jitters, call up the PGPX office or send them an email at pgpxquery@iima.ac.in .
