Since IIM A PGPX application initially does not require either essays or LORs, how do you screen the candidates?

We do not ask for any letters of recommendation. Short-listed candidates would be asked to submit two essays – the topics of which will be announced along with the short-listing for personal interviews. However, successful candidates are required to give three references. The candidates are short-listed in the descending order of the Total Application Rating (TAR) based on criteria such as GMAT score, educational qualifications with due consideration for professional degrees, masters and doctoral degrees, total work experience including international work experience, functional areas of work experience and gender.

Do I need to add High School details in academic Qualification?
Should I mention each and every award/Certificate or only the prominent ones?
Can I mention about college fest in my Extra Curricular Activity list?

Hi Souvilibra, As per the application portal of IIM A PGPX, you need not mention high schools academic details. You can mention all awards/certificates which you believe might add credibility to your profile. I doubt you can mention about college fest in Extra Curricular Activity. Hi PGPX Can you help me with the following 2 queries? 1) The online application form has these two fields- Extra-Curricular Activities/Interests and Awards/Prizes. While the latter explicitly asks for awards and prizes only, the former option states "Please mention only those activities for which you have obtained any recognition/awards" (both of these options seem to be overlapping to me

). My question is- If both the options ask one to mention only about the prizes won, where should one mention about activities such as community service, work with some NGO or accomplishments such as getting elected for students' council in college etc ? 2) I have not yet received my AWA score. In the form, it seems I have to fill it and cant leave it blank. What should i do? Please help. Thanks in Advance!

I am shortlisted for the interview, and need to submit those essays now.

Any idea, by when do we get the interview dates ?

Also, if one has arranged for the Official GMAT copy to be sent to the school, is it mandatory to send the test taker's pdf copy too to the school ?

Their website says interview dates would be sent before 15-Oct but I am yet to receive my details. I emailed them today to check. Will call and check tomorrow. Suggest you do that too.
I emailed them the first page of my Official GMAT Score Report.

2012 January to 2012 July - Started a website to sell old books online by aggregating old books stores in bangalore. 
Lost interest due to financial problems . Flopped u can say. 
( Does this add value ? ) Can't prove it also now !!

Planning to take up 1 year mba in operations.

Hi,

I would like to know about acceptable documentary proofs for extra curricular activities.

I have worked for local chapter of an NGO. What can i give as the proof of my social works undertaken under the NGO flag? 
I do not have any certificate of membership as the NGO does not issue any such certificate to its volunteers.

'Do I have a chance ?' - Since you are looking for an 'honest' answer, you must simply go ahead and apply. Express yourself well in your essays and let them know about your experience for real. Leave it on the adcom to come up with 'honest' answer. Till then don't waste your time looking for answers to the questions you haven't even asked.

There must be some email communication in this regard somewhere ? Could be between the volunteers or between you and the management ? Use that....

Hi,
I understand that we will need to submit 2 essays when/if we are called for the interview in R2. I went through the web site but couldn't find the essay topics. Are they only given to those selected for the interview? and that too only after they get a call? If that is the case, can you please let me know how long do we get to prepare our essays before the deadline to submit them?

Yes...the essay questions would be provided if you are called for an interview. You would have about 20 days to submit.

Hello Guys,

I have submitted the application on Nov14th.

1) Should i send my Official Score to IIMA or the Student Copy of the Report just be enough?

2) If I should be sending the official report to IIMA when should I be reporting the Score ? Should i submit the Score only if they shortList the application or should i submit it before they even shortList(i.e. during the application submit)?

So I came to know from another applicant that the results for R1 are delayed. BUT I have not received any such email. Can any one please tell if they too have not received such email.
