Hey Guys, I just updated the first post with deadlines for the 2017-18 admission calendar.

I request all applicants to add IIM Indore's EPGP program to your MBA timeline so that the applicant stats displayed on the first post reflect true picture of admissions. While adding the program, MAKE SURE you are setting it for graduation year i.e. 'Class of 2018'.

Hello Narenn

Thanks for the post.

I have a query . Might be a dumb one. nevertheless hear me out.

For IIMI EPGP the eligibility for the program says (GMAT score obtained between 01 January 2012 and 31 December 2016)
But the last date of application is 10 October 2016 for GMAT applicants.

How can I fill my GMAT score in Application form before 10 October 2016 if I am appearing in GMAT in DEC 2016?

Regards
Alok

Interview Debrief : ( I work in supply chain and planning systems ( IT) )

Overall it was a medium stress level interview. This was a skype interview and went on for around 30 min. The interviewers were looking for students who are absolutely clear about their career path post MBA. They wanted to check my knowledge level on current business trends . At the same time they wanted to check my knowledge level in mathematics ( eg. Calculus )

There were three professors.
P1 : asked questions related to my job .
P2 : asked questions related to my opinion on some latest business trends
P3 : asked about my motivation to do MBA , some basic mathematics

P1: What is your role ? What do are you responsible for ?
What is allocation planning ? Can you explain with an example ?
Can you quote some of the methods used to generate the constrained plan ?

P2: What is the economic impact of demonetization. Do you support Cyrus mistry ? Why
Tell me three things that you will do , if you were the chairman of Tata group.
How is IOT helping manufacturing ? What is reverse Globalization ?

P3: Do you know area of a circle ? Can you derive this ?
When you do derivative of a circle , why do you get the circumference ? Can you explain...
Why do you want to do MBA now ? What do you want to do after MBA? Do you know what exactly you have to do in your job, post MBA ?

Result selected : I beleive I answered - 85 to 90 % of these.

This is a post on my interview Debrief for the IIM Indore EPGP one-year MBA. Generally, with low GMAT score like mine (600/800) you don’t receive the interview call from any of the IIM’s, but since the criteria for selection in IIM Indore EPGP is 50% weightage for GMAT and 50% weightage for interview, I believe I got the interview call.

Interview was conducted in Monarch Luxur Hotel in Shivaji Nagar in Bangalore on 28th Dec’19. Interview was supposed to start at 8:30am but started at 9:00am. There were 12 candidates for the morning session. They called ppl based on alphabetical order and mine was the first.
The panel consisted of 2 people. One young guy (P1) and one middle aged person (P2). Before you are called they review your application and be prepared to ask the questions based on your application content.

Me: Good Morning.
P1: Please have your seat.
P2: Please give the documents.
Me: handed over the file of photocopies.
P1: Briefly tell me about yourself
Me: Told my educational background, family background, work experience.
P1: So you are work experience is based on your educational background?
Me: Yes (I believe this was asked because most ppl they faced are of different educational background and work exp)
P1: Tell me about current Job profile
Me: I explained my roles and responsibilities.
P1: What are the tests conducted on Concrete? (Questions based on my work experience; I am a Civil Engineer btw)
Me: Explained about in-situ tests conducted – Compressive strength and Slump test
P2: You have mentioned about the achievements in your application, what is the learning from it?
Me: Working with limited resources. (Based on what I mentioned in application)
P2: What is the -ve effects of your achievement
Me: Quality of work is affected
P2: What is your key take away by studying at SASTRA University.
Me: Discipline. And explained further on it.
P1: Why are cement manufacturers boast about the compressive strength of the cement? What is it and what is its significance?
Me: Explained in terms of my understanding about the concrete properties and how cement contributes to it.
P2: What do you know about Dada Saheb Phalke Award? In which industry this is awarded?
Me: Movie Industry.
P2: Who is the latest recipient of this award?
Me: No Idea
P2: Hints that the person was not well when the award was announced and hence did not collect in person
Me: Amitabh Bachchan – answered correctly though guessed. (P2 looked quite happy).
P1: What are the macro economic factors that affect construction industry?
Me: I was good at this. Gave a long answer of 10mins starting from supply demand, GST, RERA, Subvention, IL & FS scam, DHFL scam, Amrapali scam etc
P2: What do you know about the recent Kashmir Issue that’s on the news?
Me: After a long pause, “I have no idea” – ( So dumb of me ). Though gave basic info that Jammu and Kashmir was partitioned and converted into union territories by revoking article 370.
P1: Do you have any questions for us?
Me: Asked regarding the timelines of selection outcome.
P2: We will give you enough time to relieve of your current employer obligations after the result. Programme starts in April 2019.
P1: You may leave (P2 Handed back all my documents)

The whole interview took about 20-25minutes. There are no specific questions that you can expect. Be good at explaining the work that you do. Have deep high-level insights of the industry that you work in. And last but not the least, be aware of the current affairs and general knowledge. You should be able to communicate well; all the above.
Hope this helps!
