From statement 2, x^2 = 36 and x = +6 or -6

But the question conveniently mentions x>0, so it has to be +6, so Statement 2 is sufficient --> Answer B

If x > 0, what is the value of x ?

(1) x > 5
(2) 40 – x^2 = 4

Its given x> 0, can x can be only +ive numbers

Lets attack (2) first

(2) 40 – x^2 = 4
x^2 = 36
x = 6

Sufficient

(1) x > 5
Can be any value

B
