Answer: (2) alone is sufficient
(1) x>5 => doesn't tell us anything about x. It could be 6, or it could be 20. NOT SUFFICIENT.
(2) 40 - x^2 = 4
So, 36=x^2
So, x = -6 or x = +6
Since we are given x>0, x = +6
SUFFICIENT

surprised this is marked at 600-700.
ST1= obviously insufficient. x can be 100,000,000 or 6.
ST2= 2 answers (b/c quadratic). When you solve, you get x=+6 or x=-6.
*Key here is to REMEMBER GIVEN: x>0 (this is the trick). ST1 gives us no new info b/c we know the answer is either positive or negative, and the GIVEN is that the answer NEED BE positive.
