Hi.
st1. the thousand digit of 10k is the same as the hundred digit of K. k=****** & 10k=******0
therefore the hundred digits of k is 7.
st2. clearly insufficient. if k= 699 & k+1=700 or k=701 & k+1=702 in one the answer is 6 and other 7.

(1). The thousands digit of 10k is 7
this means K must be 3 digit or more a positive integer
having 7 as hundredth digit
As multiplying any number by 10 will just add 0 to its units digit
thus suff
(2) let k=699 then ...hundreds is 6
but if k=700 then hundredths digit is 7
