At the grocery store, all bags of apples are priced equally and all bags of oranges are priced equally. What is the total price of 2 bags of apples and 3 bags of oranges?
1. At the grocery store, the total price of 1 bag of apples and 1 bag of oranges is $10.45
2. At the grocery store, the total price of 6 bags of apples and 9 bags of oranges is $80.55

Let the bags of apples = x.
Let the bags of oranges = y.
We're looking for 2x + 3y.
1. We're given x + y = $10.45.
This statement alone is INSUFFICIENT. We have two unknowns and therefore are unable to solve this question in itself.
2. 6x + 9y = $80.55.
This statement alone is SUFFICIENT. We can divide by 3 to deduce to 2x + 3y. We can do this because the stem informed us that all bags of apples are priced equally, and all bags of oranges are priced equally.
ANSWER: B.
