QUestion: If n is a positive integer, is 5 a factor of n?
Statement 1: 5 is a factor of 2n
SInce we know that n is a positive integer, 2n will also be an integer for given n
and since 5 has no common factor with 2 other than 1 therefore n must be the cause for 5 to be the factor of 2n
i.e. n must be a multiple of 5, i.e. 5 MUST be a factor of n
SUFFICIENT
Statement 2:10 is a factor of 5n
Case 1: n = 2, i.e. 10 is factor of 5n but 5 is NOT a factor of n
Case 2: n = 10, i.e. 10 is factor of 5n and 5 is a factor of n
NOT SUFFICIENT
Answer: Option A
