1) Line L passes through Quadrants I and III only.
Since line crosses 1st & 3rd quadrant only. Both X and Y will be either Positive or Negative.
The product of XY will be always positive.
So the product of XY will never be less than 0.
(Sufficient)
2) Slope of Line L is 2
Y2-Y1/X2-X1 = 2
Y2-Y1 = 2(X2-X1)
Here X1,Y1,X2 and Y2 could hold any sign.
Not possible to determine whether product of XY will be always less than 0.
(Insufficient)

Could you please help wit my query.
A line is expressed with the equation \(y = mx + c\)
Y intercept is c and x intercept is \(\frac{ -c}{m}\)
hence product of x intercept and y intercept is \( \frac{-c^2}{m}\)
Question now asks : is \( \frac{-c^2}{m}<0\)
To satisfy the above equation \(m\) has to be \(+ve\) and \(c\) should not be equal to \(0\)
In both the statements we have the information of the slope but we do not have the information of \(c\). What if \(c\) passes through origin.
In that case we cannot determine the answer unless we know both \(c\) and \(m\).
Therefore could you please explain why the answer is not E?
