Total contribution = $600 and each member contributed equally.

Let members be M and donation be D. So,

\(M*D = 600\) ......(1)

Stmt 1: If M were M-5 then D would be D+10. So,

\((M-5)*(D+10) = 600 \) ......(2)

Eq (1) and Eq. (2) have 2 variables, 2 equations hence solvable therefore sufficient.

Stmt 2: This statement tells nothing about M and D. It simply puts a constraint but no equation can be formed from here. So insufficient.

Hence answer is A.

The members of a local club contributed equally to pay $600 towards a donation. How much did each one pay?

(1) If there had been five fewer members, each one would have paid an additional $10.
(2) There were at least 20 members in the club, and each one paid no more than $30.
