Hello, a small query.
I a class interval like this shouldn't the lower limit i.e 45 be the least score for 1) ?
Yes, the lowest score could be 45, as it's from 45 to 54. However, even if it were 54, still the range comes out to be 36, so still greater than 34. Therefore, we are considering the worst-case scenario to ensure that the range is for sure greater than 34.

Range = Highest value - Lowest Value

According to the ranges given here the highest and lowest ranges could be 94-45 = 51 and 85-54 = 31 respectively

Question: Is Range > 34?

Statement 1: The greatest score is 90.
i.e. least range = 90-54 = 36
YES
SUFFICIENT

Statement 2: Least score = 5

i.e. least range = 85-50 = 35
YES
SUFFICIENT

Answer: Option D
