The table shows the distribution of scores on a typing test for a group of 84 trainees. Is the range of the scores greater than 34 ?
(1) The greatest score is 90.
From the table it follows that the lowest score must be at most 54, so the range must be more than 90 - 54 = 36. Sufficient.
(2) The least score is 50.
Similarly, from the table it follows that the highest score must be at least 85, so the range must be more than 85 - 50 = 35. Sufficient.
Answer: D.
