Jane speed - v
Elaine speed - 1.2v
let, after t hours thy will meet
1.5v + vt = 1.2vt
=>1.5 = .2t
=>t = 7.5
total time for Jane = 7.5+1.5 = 9 hours
Statement 2 sufficient

total distance of jane =1.5v + vt
1.5v = distance of jane during 1.5 hours
vt = distance in t hours

total distance of elaine in t hours= 1.2vt

Let's say after t hours, Elaine overtook Jane.
Jane's speed = J
Elaine's speed = E
J*t=E*(t-3/2)
J/E = (t-3/2)/t

Statement-1
J=50, still E unknown to find t
Insufficient

Statement-2
E=1.2J
J/E = 5/6
So, (t - 3/2) / t = 5/6
t=9
Sufficient
