let the number of bottles Y last year be Y.
the number of bottles X last year be X.
STATEMENT 1:
(1) Last year, if the number of bottles of Brand Y sold had been 7 percent greater, the number of bottles of Brand X sold would be 60% of the number of bottles of Brand Y sold.
lets assume the the number of Bottle Y last year be 100Y.
if bottle Y has been 7% high it’s 107Y.
number of bottles X = 3/5 * 107Y
we can arrive to the ratio of X/Y.
Statement 1 is sufficient.
STATEMENT 2:
(2) Last year, 553,725 bottles of Brand X soft drink were sold.
standalone statement 2 is not sufficient to answer the question.
Hence, option A
