Sometimes studying for the GMAT makes me feel like im losing my marbles, anyways for kevin and his marbles (m);
1)
m-10=m/2
2m-20=m
m=20

this statement tells us he has black and white marbles in a ratio of 3:1
or for ever white marble w, he has 3 black marbles (3w)
this tells us nothing for example, he may have exactly 4 marbles, he may have 8 or he may have 100 with 96 red marbles.
