Sprinter A and Sprinter B are running the 100 yard dash in opposite directions. Sprinter A is starting at the finish line for Sprinter B and Sprinter B is starting at the finish line for Sprinter A. Who is the faster sprinter, assuming that they run a constant speed throughout the entire 100 yards?
(1) Sprinter A averages 3 feet per step and Sprinter B average 5/2 feet per step.
(2) Sprinter B takes 4 steps per second and Sprinter A takes 3 steps per second.
(1) Sprinter A averages 3 feet per step and Sprinter B average 5/2 feet per step.
(2) Sprinter B takes 4 steps per second and Sprinter A takes 3 steps per second.

To get the speed of each sprinter, we need to get 1) distance and 2) time
1. Insufficient, only distance (feet), but no time
2. Insufficient, only time (second), but no distance
1 and 2 combined, we got distance (feet) and time (second).
In this case,
A: 3 feet/step * 3 steps/second = 9 feet/second
B: 5/2 feet/step * 4 steps/second = 10 feet/second
Hence, B is much faster than A
