Statement 1 clearly tells us that of the folks who are both in nutrition and meditation, 2 of them joined Yoga as well

So the answer to no of ppl in all 3 categories is 2 —— sufficient

Statement 2 alone doesn’t give us enough information

The eq for 3 categories is

Total = Y + N + M − (Y∩N) − (Y∩M) − (N∩M) + (Y∩N∩M)

So 41= 27+18+14 but the remaining variables are unknown so insufficient

Answer is A

Given:

Total: 41 employees
Nutrition sess : 18 employees
Meditation sess : 14 employees
Yoga class : ___

To find: How many attended all 3 sessions?

Statement 1: 9 employees signed up for both nutrition sessions and meditation sessions, of whom 2 also signed up for yoga classes.

Data is Sufficient.

Given that the employees attending both the nutrition and meditation groups consist of 9 members, 2 of whom are also registered for yoga, the overlap for all three sessions is clearly mentioned. Even if a separate yoga and nutrition group existed, the total number of people attending all the three sessions would remain the same. i.e. 2

Statement 2: 27 employees signed up for yoga classes.

Data is Not Sufficient.

There's no mention of how much is the overlap between the sessions here. We cannot solve for the overlap between the sessions without knowing all 3 possible two-session overlaps for reverse calculation OR a direct mention of three-session overlap like in Statement 1.

Correct answer is A.

Statement 1 says:
9 people are in Nutrition + Meditation group
From those 9, 2 people also joined Yoga

So those 2 people are in all three groups.
So Statement (1) is enough.

Statement (2) says:
27 people did Yoga

But we don’t know:
How many did Yoga + Nutrition
How many did Yoga + Meditation
How many did all three
Thus, Statement (2) not enough.

Therefore, option A is the correct answer
