At two specialty food stalls, Green Market and Riverside Market, the prices per kilogram of almonds, walnuts, and pecans were as follows:
Marcus bought certain quantities of almonds, walnuts, and pecans at Riverside Market. How much money would he have saved if he had bought those same quantities at Green Market instead?
(1) The total weight of nuts Marcus bought was 4.5 kilograms.
(2) For every 2 kilograms of walnuts Marcus bought, he bought 3 kilograms of pecans and 5 kilograms of almonds.

Asked: rice differences (Riverside − Green):
Almonds: 16 − 14 = 2 per kg
Walnuts: 18 − 16 = 2 per kg
Pecans: 20 − 18 = 2 per kg
So savings = 2 × (total kilograms bought)
We only need total weight.
(1) Total weight = 4.5 kg → savings = 2 × 4.5 = 9 → sufficient
(2) Gives ratio of quantities, but not total amount → insufficient
Answer: A
Almonds: 16 − 14 = 2 per kg

Pecans: 20 − 18 = 2 per kg

The question asks how much Marcus would have saved by shopping at Green Market instead of Riverside Market.
