Let L be the total number of lunch boxes Cafe Luna sold last week, and let P be the total number of lunch boxes Cafe Porto sold last week.
The question asks whether L > P.
(1) More than 15% of the lunch boxes sold by Cafe Porto last week were sold on Friday, and fewer than 15% of the lunch boxes sold by Cafe Luna last week were sold on Friday.
This gives only percentage information about Friday sales relative to total weekly sales. It gives no actual sales numbers.
Not sufficient.
(2) On Friday of that week, Cafe Luna sold more than 900 lunch boxes, and Cafe Porto sold fewer than 900 lunch boxes.
This gives only Friday sales, not total weekly sales.

Both statements together are sufficient, but neither alone is sufficient.
- Statement (1) Alone: Insufficient. It only gives percentages for Friday sales (F_P > 15% and (F_L < 15%). It lacks absolute numbers.
- Statement (2) Alone: Insufficient. It only gives Friday's raw numbers (F_L > 900 > F_P). We do not know what happened on the other days.
- Together: Sufficient. Combining the facts allows us to solve for total weekly sales:
- Luna: Sold > 900 on Friday, which is < 15% of its total. Weekly total is (> 900/0.15 = 6,000).
- Porto: Sold < 900 on Friday, which is > 15% of its total. Weekly total is (< 900/0.15 = 6,000).
