we are only given average speed for the whole trip. no distance no time is given.
statement 1 only gives average speed for a part of distance. so, not sufficient.
statement 2 only give time for a part of distance. again, not sufficient. So, E.

From the first statement, we don't get the distance between two destinations so it is not sufficient to answer the question.
Statement 2 is also not providing us the actual distance between X to Y, so it is also unable to provide the answer.
Combining them together, we are still not able to find the proper inputs requiired to answer the question i.e. both distances and total time taken.
So option E is the answer.
