Hi Libai,

no info about the dates yet, but I think they will be fairly quick considering how fast they were with the interview decision. :)

Interesting that you need a visa from a European country, where are you from?

Please share your profile! :)

Hi Eniko,

I am a chinese guy living in france, that's why I need a visa to go to GB.

Not having anything special with regard to my profile:
Gmat 700
Gpa 15+/20 (1st degree equivalent)
Several internships in the wine/champagne.(Not bignames)
Some extracurricular activities experience (Acting, Basketball, Student union...)

But I know I am different comparing to the typical LBS MiM students, I don't want to focus on career in IB/Consulting firm.
I guess the notion "diversity" is the reason that I got an interview invitation from LBS.

Best,
Lihui

As far as I know this the kind of diversity AdCom is striving to achieve, so congrats! :)

Hope you get your Visa situation sorted out easily.

What would you like to do after MiM?

Not pretty sure. The wine or Champagne industry, why not?
I just want to get more to fulfill my potential, so let's see what new career options that LBS can give me :)

Hi Encsi,

I've nothing updated so far.:(
When will you take the interview? It's in London or in your city?

I have some problems with my visa, it takes usually 4 weeks to process my application, thus I may have to stay in France and have the interview with an alumni.

Hi everyone,
I am yet to submit my application and would apply in the R2( hopefully). However, can you guys please share your respective profiles and a little insight on how you went about the application process. It would be pretty helpful.
Thanks :)

Hi Libai!

I am sure they are aware of the difficulties of obtaining a visa, and are trying to maybe set up a local interview with alumni. But you don't have nothing to worry about, since they already told you they would like to interview you :)

Hi Akshay076!

I have shared my profile in the opening comment. :)

The Adcom was super quick with their interview decisions. The decision deadline was set to be 30 October, and I will interview on 3 November, I think that is a huge plus. I took my time compiling my essays, I even shared them with people who know me really well. The application fee was/is 90 GBP, despite listing 70 something on the webpage. I was mostly worried about my recommenders not completing their task on time, but it was OK.
I think the key is preparing things in advance and being honest, if you rush your application, it will probably show. But you still have plenty of time before 28 November.

I wish you good luck and please share your profile too! :)

Hi all!

I am really not sure if I should apply to LBS Mim because of my low TOEFL score... What are your scores?
Here is my profile:
-21 years old, Male from Finland
-GMAT 690 Q48 V35 IR 8 AWA 4,5
-TOEFL 103 (R27 L30 S24 W22  ) I have no idea what went wrong in writing section...
-Summer internships in Fortum (energy industry), Microsoft and starting BCG international internship in january 2015. +many other summerjobs
-finishing (december) my Bsc in Industrial Engineering and Management with GPA 4,6-4,7/5 one semester before others in my class.
- Board member of economic club of our university, Volunteer officer in my icehockey team, won management game in finance 2014 in Utrecht University, won Tampere site in Microsoft Hackathon competition in 2014 and finished 60/4000 in global competition. Also won nordic student championship in icehockey at 2013.

Can you please evaluate my profile? I am really concerned on the TOEFL score... should I rescore writing? If I try to do it again I cant apply before the end of november :/ Furthermore, I have maximum grade from academic writing in english in my university which is C1-level course. Could I overcome this TOEFL score with great essays or should I just retake the test and apply in january or march?

Good luck all 8-)

Hi ahokasm!

I was in your shoes a month ago, my IELTS 7.0 is below the requirement of LBS, but I still had interview and finally got my admission today.

The only advice I would like to give you is submitting your application as early as possible, you are a strong candidate but the application will be more and more competitive in my opinion, especially the guys who share the similar profile and career interest with you (According to your internshop experience at BCG I guess it will be in the Consulting? ).

Hope to see you in London :)

Best,
Libai

Hi guys!

Congrats Libai! I guess we will see each other in September on campus!! :-D Super excited

Hi Akosahm!

I think you have a really interesting profile. If I were you, I would consider whether I have time to take an new language exam and receive the result by the next deadline. If you have the time, then why not redo the test? If you are on a time crunch, you will have to evaluate whether your other achievements make up for this tiny flaw and whether you want to risk getting in a later round of applicants, where the competition will be a lot fiercer with a lot more applicants than in the early rounds. (I am not familiar with the test, but I saw that 110 is the treshold and you have 103, so it cannot be that bad anyway.)

Anyway, I wish the best of luck! :) And please feel free to keep us updated.

Hi ahokasm!

I think that the interview will be fine as long as you know what you have written in your application essays. Anyways, I have not gotten any radom questions, that I would not have expected. Good luck! :)

Hi Rahil!

I hope my answer is not too late. I think you should explain your carreer aspirations after LBS, what industry you would like to work in, explain why your choice makes sense in the light of your academic, professional, and personal achievements. I think this is just rephrasing the question, I hope this helps.

BTW, would you mind sharing your profile? :)

Eniko

(just to avoid confusion, I talk about this essay question :) - In what company and role will you be working in after completing your Masters in Management and how will your academic, professional, and personal achievements allow you to succeed in this position? What challenges do you foresee in pursuing this goal? )

Hi!
I have a query regarding the time of sending the application.
My profile-
21 years(female)
-Bachelor of Commerce
Undergrad. expected score 81% (University of Delhi,India)
-An internship at a CSR consultancy and an NGO focusing on Child Rights
-Won many Business Plan competitions
- Trained in the basics of Spanish
- GMAT 590 (Q43,V26)
-Head of National Service Scheme in college

I feel that my GMAT is way too low for admission into Mim.
However, I am good at Quantitative skills which is reflected through my college and school academic results.

I want to re-take the GMAT, but that won't be possible before March. Also, I feel that March will be TOO late to submit the application. However, if I submit my application now, I am afraid that my GMAT score may not make me a successful applicant.

Please suggest a way that can solve my GMAT and submission of application problem simultaneously.
